Clearing your Cache
How do I clear my cache?
Settings --> Advanced browser settings --> Clear cache, right down the bottom. Press the little button and voila, you'll be all set to go.
What should I be trying this for?
When you clear your cache, it clears temporary data stored in the webview (browser) and forces everything to reload fully, rather than using a possibly outdated version on the device itself. The kind of things it clears is:
- Cached pages (things like Torn's styles and scripts, forcing them to be re-fetched on next load)
- Cookies, including the one Torn uses to keep you logged in - you'll need to log back into Torn after clearing.
- Local and session storage, including stored data from your userscripts
If something isn't working right in your browser, give the clear cache button a go before reporting it to us.
Why does this fix the issue?
Clearing your cache is the web equivalent of turning it off and turning it back on again - it forces your browser to redo everything from scratch. Things get stuck sometimes; oftentimes Torn will serve a bugged script or stylesheet that your device then saves locally and continues to serve, even after they fix it.
What drawbacks does this have?
Your installed userscripts will use localstorage to store values - things like settings, saved keys, and the like. If you're clearing your cache, many of these scripts will be reset to the way they were when you first installed them, and you'll need to re-set them up the way you like.
Other than this, it's relatively harmless - you'll notice things are slightly slower for a tiny bit as the cache rebuilds, but nothing too major here. If you've got your login details saved in the app itself, then PDA will log you straight back in as well, so you won't even have to worry about that!
Note: Whilst PDA can skip the username and password step, you'll still need to input your 2FA code manually.
